Ary Katz

Bio(s)- from the Latin for LIFE. Too often, we in the arts reduce this word to a brief and self-indulgent laundry list of career highlights. “…graduate of AADA …named NBC’s ‘Golden Local’ …recently appeared on CSI, CSI:Miami, Rules of Engagement, iCarly … Clint Eastwoood’s ‘J.Edgar…” Slightly informative and instantly forgettable. A blurb. Bio=Life. How could we ever fit a whole life in a paragraph? A page? A play? …but we do. As theatrical artists we fit whole lives onto the stage and screen. We compact the enormity of the universe into small, digestible portions and feed it to all who will dine with us. We make others think. We make others feel. We persist in pushing the bounds of convention, digging deeper, reaching higher and always trying to uncover something previously unseen… this is the goal of my art …this is the goal of my bio.
